This study experimentally confirms the effectiveness of vocabulary expansion in the process of learning a second foreign language based on the integration of cognitive and linguodidactic approaches. The aim of the study is to determine the impact of combining cognitive strategies and linguodidactic approaches on the development of active vocabulary, the formation of word-formation skills, and the reduction of interference among students.
A total of 48 students participated in the pedagogical experiment, and the intervention lasted eight weeks. The results showed that in the experimental group lexical coverage increased by 34,1%, the number of successfully completed word-formation tasks rose by 5,2 points, and the level of interference decreased by 17,3%. Theoretical analysis and empirical data proved the effectiveness of integrating cognive and linguodidactic approaches in teaching a second language in a multilingual context.
This study focuses several key methods that impact the effectiveness of vocabulary teaching practices. Examples of the effective application of these methods in the educational process are presented, and their advantages and potential limitations are demonstrated.
